Mel Gibson‘s will legally be a single man today as his divorce from his estranged wife Robyn Moore will finalized. According to TMZ there is not thought to have been a prenuptial agreement between the couple – who were married for 28 years before officially separating in 2006 – but a deal is believed to have been struck between the pair.
Robyn filed for divorce in 2009 – just after after learning Mel’s gold-digging girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva was pregnant.
Earlier this month, Mel won praise from Judge Stephanie Sautner, who is overseeing his battery case against former girlfriend Oksana Grigoreiva after he completed double the amount of anger management and domestic violence counseling he was required to undertake.
Mel pled no contest to misdemeanor battery against Oksana with whom he has two-year-old daughter Lucia and is currently on informal probation.
In March, Mel was sentenced to a year-long domestic violence counseling programme over the incident, which occurred in January 2010, and he was also served with a protective order not to “threaten or harass anyone involved in the case.”
