The Capital has announced Effie Trinket will be the face of China Glaze the upcoming line of nail polishes CAPITOL COLOURS. The 12 polishes are each inspired by one of the 12 districts of Panem – allowing citizens to show their solidarity and support for a favorite tribute by wearing the color associated with their district.
Effie is all in pink with her pink hair, pink eye shadow, pink lips and of course feathered eyelashes. There are small circles of color in the ad and I assume they are the other colors in the collection. Check out the full color palette here! The tagline for the campaign is ‘What will you be wearing to the opening ceremonies?’
In the Hunger Games, Effie ( Elizabeth Banks ) works as an escort. She was an escort for Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. Her responsibilities include drawing Hunger Games tributes’ names at reapings and subsequently escorting the tributes to the Capitol. Effie tries to encourage tributes to be happy about their upcoming participation in the Games which generally fails. Effie lives in the Capitol and only travels to the Districts for the reaping and the victory tour.
