Tonight’s recap: Tonight Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell will reveal who their top four picks will be. Those picks will be moving onto the live X Factor shows. Demi feels very confident in her final decision. Jenelle Garcia who has really sexed it up for the judges is the first to make it through to the live shows. Demi is worried a bit about her confidence while performing but things it’s something she’ll over come. Willie Jones talks about how heart broken he’ll be if he doesn’t go forward. Demi worries because his voice bops between country and r&b. She says he’ll need to choose a direction and he’ll have time to do that in front of America in the live shows.
Nick Youngerman is a fun rapper that really gets everyone on their feet. Demi tells him that the bar has been set really high and that she needs to send him home. He likens it to a bad breakup. Paige Thomas is a young mom with a really huge voice. She has made some risky choices and has crumbled here and there. She breaks down with Demi and tells her how much she thinks she can do this and be a good mom. Demi agrees and puts her through to the live shows.
Cece Frey and Jillian Jensen are the final two and one has to leave. Demi feels the CeCe took her direction and she doesn’t offer a reason but sends Jillian home. Maybe she thinks the girl is still way too fragile to handle the rough competition. Jillian is heart broken and CeCe is so relieved advance to the final four.
Simon Cowell is choosing the fate of the groups and Lyric 145 is up first. He loves that they leave everything on the stage and can compete even though they haven’t been together for as long as some of their competitors. We’ll be seeing them in the live shows. Dope Crisis is a two man group with an R&B vibe. Simon’a concern is about where to place them in the market and that fear means that they are going home. Emblem 3 has learned to focus really hard in order to reach their goal here. They screwed up the last performance and lost the words which is usually a kiss of death with Simon. He has liked them from day one but worries that they haven’t done their best. They don’t rehearse enough. Simon likes to work with winners and he believes that’s exactly what they are.
Sister C has a real country flavor and Simon thinks that they appear a bit standoffish. He thinks they have distinctive voices but he’s not sure if they are likable enough. He thinks that if they get enough time America will fall in love with them. One spot remains and it’ll either go to the boy band Playback or the girl group, Lylas. Both groups were put together during the audition process and both face disbanding if they are sent home so nerves are extra high. Simon tells Playback that their time is up and of course they’re upset that they’ll be going home. Lylas on the other hand, are over the moon. Tune in next time to watch the final 16 head into the live shows!
