Joan Rivers has already started pimping out her new book Diary of a Mad Diva, which is pretty self-explanatory. However, Joan’s book is chock full of drama about other people, including major A-list celebrities. Do we expect any different, knowing Joan’s propensity for causing trouble?
Joan has never been a fan of Kristen Stewart, but she took it one step further in her book by stating, “Many stars only do one thing well. Of course, the best one-trick pony is Kristen Stewart, who got a whole career by being able to juggle directors’ balls.”
Ouch. Joan is obviously referring to Kristen’s cheating scandal with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, who also happened to be married. But if we’re looking at this objectively, Kristen’s career came from Twilight, not SWATH – and Twilight was cast by Catherine Hardwicke, who had been a fan of Kristen’s from her other films.
So no, Kristen’s career did not come from ‘being able to juggle directors’ balls’. Rather, her notoriety in the press came from that, as did the accompanying infamy. I’m sure Kristen would rather live without that, and as much as her career success could be drawn into question, I doubt she slept with any director when she was first starting out – i.e., when she was a child.
Of course, Joan is clearly trying to stir up as much trouble as possible with her new book, but that’s blatant audience baiting. Joan knows that people love to read Hollywood gossip, whether it’s made up or not, and she already has a sizable audience from Fashion Police.
