RECAP: Tonight Bear is going out into the wild with Ben Stiller, he asked to go out on this adventure in Scotland; he wants to take a break from life and go out and have the experience of a life time. Bear believes Ben is a comedy legend but knows he wants to go out on his own adventure, he’s waiting for Bear who’s on his way in a helicopter.
The helicopter arrives and Bear comes out to see Ben, the two now head back into the helicopter together; Bear and Ben are outside of the helicopter holding on to it as the fly in the air. The two now get out of the helicopter and are now on the mountain, there is a ton of fog all around. they weren’t able to go any higher because of the fog, so now it’s a harder journey. Ben says he’s willing to take a chance, yet always regrets it; Bear says this is like Tropic Thunder and Ben begs Bear not to die on him. Bear tells Ben about the cliche where people come to climb the mountains of Scotland and die, the terrain is slippery so they are now on a short rope just in case Ben might slip; Bear is now using a rock to hold the rope for him as he is going down. Ben doesn’t feel so safe about the rock since the first three times it came out, he’s pretty nervous.
Ben and Bear are going very slowly across the mountain; Ben is realizing how he’s got a fear of heights from being on the ledge. The danger is terrifying and he’s happy to not have died. Bear hands Ben an apple, he asks Ben where he grew up; Ben says he grew up in New York City. His parents were actors and comedians, he grew up with it and they’d go away a lot as he was young; it was never normal seeing his family on TV. Ben mentions he did comedy because he realized a form of it that he loved, it made him excited and want to pursue it as well. Bear and Ben are now going down this slippery rock; they need a rope or they could slip and hurt themselves. Bear and Ben are now walking to the shore line together now, there is a big drop. Bear goes ahead to teach Ben how to tie a knot; Ben isn’t so sure if it will hold though.
Ben and Bear are going down together to the sea shore where they will find some food and shelter for the night; Ben has never rappeled before and is super scared; he thinks it’s insane. The two bounce down right to the bottom of the large cliff, Ben feels so good to touch the ground and can’t believe he did that; Bear finds some food for the two of them. Bear spots a cave and Ben tells him that he couldn’t find some of the limpits; the two now go into a cave. Bear finds wild garlic and now the two go inside of the cave.
Ben and Bear enter the cave, it looks so amazing; the two decide to go down a mineral stairway; they need to lean forwards to get down safely. Ben almost slips and falls down it, they find some clean filtered water; the two now start taking a drink. Ben mentions they could make their own water brand called Cave Drippings. Bear goes ahea to start a fire for them, he hands it to Ben to go ahead and make fire for the first time in his life. Ben gets it started, the two are now going to eat their findings; they cook limpits. Ben eats it and says that it has sand in it which gives it a crunch; they were chewy and honestly not bad though. Bear mentions how it’s tough to be away from his family, Ben mentions it that it’s hard because your kids grow up so quickly. Ben grew up with his family being well known, he didn’t like it as a kid since he felt that people were taking his parents attention from him; the two now go to sleep. Ben wakes up and Bear is sleeping; he is planning on making an escape so he won’t have to eat limpits. Bear tells him to shut up and sleep.
Bear and Ben wake up, Ben mentions how it was hard to sleep at night; he feels like he could do it on his own now. Ben feels like he has this, they now have to get out of the chasm they are in; the tide is coming up. Bear and Ben are going to climb right back up the chasm, Bear tells Ben he’s got blue steel. Ben is trying his best to climb up now, he’s getting very tired and it’s painful.
Ben is a quarter of the way but is struggling a lot, he decides to push himself o get to the top, Ben finally makes it and is now resting at the top; he is so exhausted and feels like he might throw up. Bear is proud the Ben did not give up and kept going; he respect it a lot. Now Bear and Ben have to climb around the ledge of a cliff, Ben is trying his best to follow behind. The get near the end and the plane is coming; but the two must jump of the cliff and swim to the plane. Bear throws their bags in the water and jumps in, Ben follows right behind him jumping in as well. The two make it to the plane and Ben says the experience was way more intense than he thought, though felt it was an incredible journey. Bear knows it has been physically demanding and would have Ben beside him in any battle any day; he’s a funny but genuinely kind man with a streak of steel.
