Tonight’s episode of Blood & Oil kicks off with Lacey and AJ having sex in her room – he tries to convince her not to go back to Los Angeles in a few days. Lacey heads downstairs for breakfast with Carla and Hap. Carla is in a great mood – because the price of oil went up, Lacey is pretty sure it has nothing to do with oil, Carla can’t wait for her to leave town.
Cody is trying to get Billy out of bed – she got him an interview as a tool pusher at another oil site. He whines that a week ago he owned his own oil site, and then he “got in to business with the devil” and lost everything thanks to Hap Briggs.
Meanwhile, at the police station the sheriff is still trying to crack Spinks’ murder case – he is going through Spinks’ cell phone and realizes that he called the criminal hot line at the police station an hour before he was killed. Sheriff heads back in to the interrogation room with Gary. Gary insists that he found the oil rig, and he didn’t kill anyone.
Sheriff thinks that Spinks was going to rat him out, so he killed him to keep him quiet. Gary’s lawyer arrives and tells Sheriff to stop badgering him, he can’t hold him any longer if h isn’t pressing charges. Sheriff has no choice but to let Gary go – but he is certain that he is guilty, he just needs to find proof.
At Hap’s house, Wick and Carla have a heart to heart. Wick reveals that Hap thinks Jules isn’t good enough for him, but he doesn’t want to break up with her. Wick says that this weekend is Jules’ birthday and he wants to do something special. Carla volunteers to plan a special birthday party for Jules and tells Wick to text her the guest list.
Billy visits McCutching – he says that he was right all along, and Hap screwed him just like he said he was going to. He begs him to teach him the oil business and promises that he will get back the land that Hap stole from them. McCutching says that he hates Hap Briggs, but he hates Billy more and slams the door in his face – refusing to work with him.
Billy heads to the bar – a girl named Emma introduces herself. She says that she is McCutching’s granddaughter and she wants him to come back to the ranch so the old man can apologize to him.
Hap pays Jules a visit, after they get out of bed she tells him that she wants to go public with their relationship. Hap insists that he loves Jules, but he can’t leave Carla for her because it would kill Wick. Then, he butters her up with a birthday present, she is thrilled that he remembered her birthday. He promises that he will “never let her go again.”
AJ meets with his handler, she is not happy that he hasn’t gotten any information they can use yet on Hap. She tells him he has 36 hours to bring her Hap’s personal files off from his computer – and then threatens his son if he doesn’t come through for her.
Meanwhile, Sherriff Tip pays Wick and Hap a visit at the oil site – he reveals that he arrested Wick’s friend Gary with the oil tanker. Hap goes home, he’s upset – he reveals that he thinks Carla might have been right and Wick could have been the man that robbed him.
Billy meets with McCutching and Emma – apparently Emma is a geologist and she can find oil in the land that no one else can find. They are going to try to buy some of the land out from underneath Hap and screw him like he screwed them. Emma is not happy that Billy convinced her grandfather to invest all of his money in trying to take down Hap.
Aj is working hard to seduce Lacey, all while getting closer to stealing Hap’s files. Meanwhile downstairs Hap learns that Carla is planning Jules a birthday party for Jules. He snarks that she has “really outdone herself.” Afterwards, Hap pays Gary a visit late at night. He demands to know who his partner was at the syphon job.
Gary tries to insist that he had nothing to do with stealing the oil, he swears that he and Wick weren’t there. Hap pulls a gun on Gary, he tells him that if he finds out he is lying he is a dead man. Wick meets with Gary afterwards, he agrees to get him a car and some cash so he can leave town ASAP.
Billy heads to a land auction with McCutching and Emma. They found a field that they think is loaded with oil, they bid all $100,000 – but then the auctioneer announces that someone online has bid $150,000. They lost the land. Afterwards Billy’s cell phone rings – it is Hap. He logged online and bid on the land because his spy at the auction told him that Billy was bidding on it.
Jules doesn’t want to go to her birthday party at Hap’s house – Wick won’t take no for an answer. He notices her new bracelet that Hap bought her, she lies and says that she go it for herself. Meanwhile, Cody is trying to get ready for Jules’ birthday party – Billly refuses to get dressed, he won’t go because it is at Hap’s house. Cody says she is going “with or without him” and leaves for the party because Jules is her friend.
Jules and Wick arrive at the birthday party, Hap texted her and told her to cancel but Jules explains that Wick wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. Meanwhile, Lacey is trying to get AJ to drink with her – he argues that he is Hap’s driver and he has to stay sober. Just because she is leaving tomorrow doesn’t mean he is, and he can’t lose his job.
Wick slips away from the party, he meets up with Gary and gives him a gold bracelet that is worth $5,000 to pawn in order to get him out of town. Back at the house, Emma stops by and gives Billy a book that her grandfather wanted him to have – she thanks him for helping her grandpa “feel alive” again and says that she knows some day he will take Hap Briggs down.
While everyone is singing Happy Birthday to Jules, AJ makes his move and slips in to Hap’s office to download his files on to a flashdrive. Wick makes a touching speech about how much he loves Jules as Hap watches on by Carla’s side. Jules is obviously bamboozled, she heads outside and tells Wick that she “needs some air.”
In Hap’s office – Lacey catches AJ, she was already on to him. She scoffs that she has been schooled with corporate espionage her entire life – but she almost missed AJ. Hap arrives, he reveals that he knows AJ’s real name is Ahmed and he is working for the Saudi Arabians. AJ tries to leave, but Hap won’t let him – he says that AJ is going to be on his payroll now, and he wants intel on the Saudi Arabians, he gives him fake files to give to his handler.
Afterwards, Hap praises Lacey on her good work uncovering AJ. He says that she is much more of a Briggs than her brother Wick and begs her to reconsider staying to work at the family business.
Jules leaves her bracelet at Hap’s bar where he will find it and leaves the party with Wick. She thanks him for a wonderful night – and ignores Hap’s phone calls. Wick heads downstairs to the bar to get Jules a drink, he bumps in to Sherriff Tip who taunts him and tells him that he “has his eye on Gary’s accomplice.”
THE END!
