“The Young and the Restless” spoilers indicate that Y&R, the most popular USA soap opera may be interested in recruiting Michael Easton as part of the cast and may have already made the call! Michael made it clear (as you will read below) that at least on soap other than GH has contacted him and is interested in picking him up. Of course to Michael Easton (Silas Clay on GH) was recently fired from “General Hospital” in a shocking way – with no warning or indication that his job was about to end. Dr. Silas Clay’s murder sent “General Hospital” fans in a tailspin of emotions prompting them to launch a petition to call for his return to the soap. Do you think Michael Easton would fit into the cast of Y&R?
It makes sense why fans would jump at the conclusion that Michael Easton could be cast on “The Young and the Restless.” The CBS daytime drama still reigns as the king of all the soaps on the air. They continually have good ratings, and the actors seem to enjoy working with Jill Farren Phelps and head scribe Chuck Pratt Jr. Michael Easton’s talent could be put to use, and he could be a romance possibility for Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Phyllis Abbott (Gina Tognoni), or Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan).
During his interview with Soaps in Depth article, Michael Easton was asked if he would consider joining the cast of “The Young and the Restless” or “Bold and the Beautiful” or even return to “Days of Our Lives” as Tanner Scofield. Michael replied, “Someone called and inquired, but I would have to think long and hard about it. I just want the next part to be the right part.” Read that quote again and you will see that it is 100% clear that at least one non-General Hospital soap is looking to hire Michael Easton! Could it be Y&R, why not?
Michael went on to tell Michael Fairman in an exclusive interview that he thinks he has one more soap character in him. He explained it would have to be the right part, one that he looked forward to portraying every day. Easton noted he lost the passion for Dr. Silas Clay long before he was fired by the ABC soap.
Michael noted that he had a few really great times portraying Dr. Clay and thanked his fans for being loyal to him even after his departure. He looked forward to landing a role on a hit daytime drama, whether it be with “The Young and the Restless,” “Days of Our Lives,” or “Bold and the Beautiful.” Easton just hoped that his fans will continue to enjoy seeing him do his part in portraying his character the best he can while the beautiful storyline unfolds.
It looks like Michael Easton is interested in landing another soap opera role and according to his SID interview Y&R, B&B or DOOL has already called, he just wanted to mull it over and make sure it is the right role for him.
