There’s been a lot of bad blood between Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev since the actress left The Vampire Diaries after the season 6 finale. But there’s hope Ian and Nina have put aside their differences and Nina Dobrev will return for The Vampire Diaries series finale.
After all is said and done and season 8 of TVD is over Ian Somerhalder may join the cast of The Originals. There’s been a lot of talk that Nina Dobrev is returning for The Vampire Diaries as Katherine Pierce. Fans have speculated that the voice Damon heard crying out for help wasn’t Elena but Katherine. If that’s the case, it would make season 8 of TVD very interesting.
Katherine ended up in Mystic Falls after being hunted mercilessly by the hybrid vampire/werewolf Klaus Mikaelson [Joseph Morgan] in New Orleans. If Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev crossover to The Originals there are so many storylines that could be explored.
Working with Nina may not be ideal for Ian given their off-screen romantic history. But a paying acting job is better than being unemployed and auditioning for bit parts. Ian is pushing 40, and let’s face it, not all that talented.
Ian’s wife Nikki Reed may not be happy that Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev would once again be sharing steamy love scenes. Nikki may even file for divorce from Ian, there has been plenty of buzz the marriage is on the rocks anyway.
Do fans really care if Nina returns as Elena or Katherine for season 8 of The Vampire Diaries? We’re sure executive producer Julie Plec doesn’t. The showrunner c just wants Nina to keep the promises that were made. Either way there can be a fantastic The Vampire Diaries series finale.
Elijah Mikaelson [Daniel Gillies], Hayley Marshall [Phoebe Tonkin] and Klaus Mikaelson up against Marcel Gerard [Charles Michael Davis], Katherine and Damon fighting for vampire control of the French Quarter? That would make The Originals even better. And draw viewers in from The Vampire Diaries when the series ends after its eighth season.
How about Rebekah Mikaelson [Claire Holt], Katherine Pierce and Marcel Gerard in a love triangle? Oh how juicy would that be? Rebekah and Marcel have never been able to put their century old romantic feelings aside.
Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev joining the cast of The Originals? It could happen. Damon and Elena don’t need to be romantically linked. There are plenty of pretty ladies for Damon to woo in New Orleans. Come back to CDL for all your The Vampire Diaries spoilers, news and updates!
