General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that Steve Burton is headed back the ABC soap and there’s a good chance he’ll be the real Jason Morgan. Billy Miller plays the current Jason, but he could easily be a phony. It’s not clear how this will play out, but it seems we’re basically be dealing with another return from the “dead.”
With that in mind, it’s a great time to reflect on other General Hospital characters who refused to stay in the grave. Many Port Charles residents appeared to meet a grim fate before waltzing back into town. Let’s look at a few of those characters and marvel at the magic of the soap world.
First, we have to talk about Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). He managed to survive brutal boat explosions as well as some seemingly lethal gunshot wounds. Still, nobody could keep a character like Faison down. He’s one of those villains who always finds a way to rise above the chaos.
Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers) is another baddie who overcame death. Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) thought he finished Helena off when he fired a fatal shot. However, Helena came roaring back to cause more mayhem. She eventually perished by poison, but is she really gone forever? You never know…
Olivia Jerome (Tonja Walker) also died and made a soapy comeback. She had to return for another round of trouble. Of course, villains aren’t the only ones who often get a second chance at life. GH can kill off any character for shock value and bring them back when they’re needed again.
Lucky Spencer (Jonathon Jackson) lived up to his name after he was presumed dead in a fire. It seems Lucky was certainly…well, lucky! Julian Jerome (William deVry) was believed to be deceased not too long ago, but he came home and stirred up plenty of mixed feelings in PC.
Who might be joining this list down the road? It’s tough to believe Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig) is gone for good. There’s been some General Hospital buzz circulating about a possible recast, so it should be interesting to see if a new Morgan stuns his family and friends.
There’s also been a lot of talk about Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher) lately. Poor Spencer (Nicholas Bechtel) is having a rough time without his father. Will GH undo the damage with Nikolas’ return? Many General Hospital viewers would love to see this character back on canvas.
