It looks like many Hollywood actresses are worried that Kate Middleton might very well steal spotlight during the entertainment industry’s awards season this 2017 year. Reports indicate that Kate Middleton is not invited to this year’s 2017 BAFTA Awards in London simply because many celebrities are worried that Kate might outshine them on the red carpet.
Insiders say that Kate’s presence might be a problem for a lot of actresses hoping to steal the show at the glitzy event. Some stars expected to attend include actresses Emily Blunt and Naomie Harris. Royal fans have long noticed that the Duchess loves red carpet events. That’s when all of the cameras are on her.
And with Kate there, many Hollywood A-stars would be left in the shadow, and that’s something they don’t want to see happen. The last time Kate attended a BAFTA Awards ceremony in 2009. That was before she married Prince William and became the Duchess of Cambridge.
Yet, Prince William has also faced criticism for not attending the BAFTAs for several years in a row now. After all, he has been the President of BAFTA since February of 2010. Even though reports say that he intended to go to this year’s event, some say that might not happen now.
There’s no way Kate Middleton would allow Prince William to show up at a star-studded even without her. At least, that’s what royal observers believe. In fact, a Kensington Palace rep refused to confirm reports that Prince William will be at the event next month.
Then again, the Duchess of Cambridge has never been invited to an awards show. Although back in October it was reported that Kate Middleton attended a Hollywood premiere as an official royal engagement. The Duchess was the guest of honor at the ‘A Street Cat Named Bob’ premiere at the Curzon Mayfair in London. What’s more, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also attended red carpet premieres for big blockbuster British films such as the most recent James Bond release, ‘Spectre.’
