The Obama camp is going to have to think twice about having all the Celebs present at the Democratic Convention. McCain has already com out with the famous ad saying Obama is "The Biggest Celebrity In the World. With the John McCain camp trying to paint Obama as a lightweight celebrity on the level of Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, Obama’s folks might be getting a little nervous about the star power likely to converge on Denver. It’s no secret that many celebrities, especially of the Hollywood variety, support Obama enthusiastically. Hollywood has always been heavily Democratic, and message of change has made passionate fans of stars like George Clooney, Ben Affleck and countless others.
George Clooney, for one, won’t be part of it: He has long maintained that Hollywood stars do not do the candidates any good in the heartland, and he is said to be planning instead a September fundraiser for Obama far from Denver — in Geneva, Switzerland.
But Affleck will be at the convention, and TV talk show host Oprah Winfrey, Obama’s most influential celebrity booster, plans to be in the audience when her man accepts the nomination at Invesco Field. Others expected: Spike Lee, Charlize Theron, Josh Brolin, Annette Bening, Susan Sarandon, perhaps Leonardo DiCaprio and Gwyneth Paltrow. Want even more Oscar-caliber acting power? Sean Penn will be around, at a rally organized by independent candidate Ralph Nader.
Kanye West is just one of the entertainers performing at various sideline events, as are the Black Eyed Peas, whose frontman, will.i.am, has released not one but two star-studded music videos in tribute to Obama. Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper and Stevie Wonder are expected. Rock the Vote, a nonpartisan group, plans to feature Jakob Dylan, Fall Out Boy and NERD at one party, singer Ashanti and Broadway musical star Idina Menzel at another.
Republicans are specifically trying to hurt Obama by focusing on his celebrity appeal and it seems Obama is playing right into thier hands. With so many celebs at the event he may reinforce a view of Obama that he is all sparkle and no experience. Source

John McCain’s campaign hit back at Madonna on Sunday after the pop diva kicked off her world tour with a concert that bracketed the US presidential candidate with Adolf Hitler.
McCain campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds angrily condemned the segment of Madonna’s concert in Cardiff on Saturday that appeared to draw a comparison between McCain, Hitler and Zimbabwean strongman Robert Mugabe.
"The comparisons are outrageous, unacceptable and crudely divisive all at the same time," Bounds said in a statement reported by Fox News. "It clearly shows that when it comes to supporting Barack Obama, his fellow worldwide celebrities refuse to consider any smear or attack off limits."
Madonna’s apparent swipe at McCain came during a performance of the song "Get Stupid", when the Republican contender’s image was flashed up alongside images of destruction and global warming as well as Hitler and Mugabe. Towards the end of the song, pictures of Beatles star John Lennon, former US vice-president Al Gore, Indian Mahatma Gandhi and McCain’s Democrat rival Barack Obama appeared. Source

Rehab Won’t Work For Amy Says Mom-In-Law

The troubled Back to Black star was secretly filmed hoovering up the Class A drug in a packed London pub. This is the FIRST time Georgette Civil has spoken out about the shocking 36-second footage, which was filmed last month during Amy’s DJ set in a Camden pub.
And her sensational comments come in the week that Amy is set for another rehab stint at the Focus 12 Clinic in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. Amy has booked into the clinic just a short drive from the jail where hubby Blake Fielder Civil is being held.
Now Blake’s mother Georgette Civil wants Amy locked up like her recovering drug addict son son. And last night Georgette told the News of the World: “Prison will do Amy far more good than Rehab.” Amy was filmed at The Monarch pub in Camden last month while standing in front of a Union Jack flag. Desperate for a fix, the singer is seen snorting the cocaine off a CD case in full view of partygoers.
Now Amy’s mother-in-law Georgette wants the police to take action and arrest her. In an exclusive interview she said: “I’m shocked by the video. When I look at Amy I think: ‘For Christ’s sake, just get a grip of yourself.’ “Enough is enough.
“As the police know Amy is a drug addict - and she has now been caught twice on film taking illegal drugs - they should arrest her and put her behind bars.
“Rehab clinics are a waste of money, unless you want them to work. “Amy doesn’t want to give up drugs, so she’s got to learn the hard way in prison. “Police have to act. She is making a mockery of the law. It has got to stop. “The price Amy has got to pay is losing her freedom.” The video footage comes only two months after Britain’s top cop Sir Ian Blair called for celebrity junkies caught on camera to be put on trial.
Sir Ian said: “My position is that a sensible jury would not expect people to be sniffing talcum powder.” In January Amy was caught smoking a crack pipe on video at her East London home, but avoided any charges because cops could not prove what she was taking. She has since spiralled out of control, while her jailed husband has managed to get himself clean of drugs. Source

Kim Kardashian May Already Be Eliminated From DWTS

The new season of "Dancing With the Stars" may have already lost its first competitor — and they haven’t even announced the official cast yet.
Kim Kardashian — who is scheduled to be on the show this season — badly cut her foot in her hotel room late Sunday night. We’re told she sliced her foot open on a glass coffee table and was rushed to New York Presbyterian Hospital. No word on how many stitches she needed, but a source tells TMZ there was "so much blood, it looked like a murder scene."
"DWTS" makes its official cast announcement this morning and Kim is in town to do press for that and her new movie, "Disaster Movie." We’re told Kim has already begun to practice for the show, but it’s unclear now whether she’ll be able to participate.
