It’ll be his last outing as heist master Danny Ocean. The movie star reveals there was never going to be a second sequel to Ocean’s Eleven, but both he and director Steven Soderbergh felt Ocean’s Twelve was so poor, they had to make another film.
He tells film website iFMagazine.com, “Thirteen happened because we felt like we could do it better than Twelve. We didn’t want to go out getting socked in the chin on one. (We) really were like, ‘We know how to do this.’ We found a really good reason to do it, which is revenge – which is always better than just making money. That made sense to us, and we thought, ‘OK, that’s a good reason to do it.'”
Clooney insists there won’t be an “Ocean’s Fourteen” unless his career really takes a tumble. He adds, “There doesn’t seem to be any reason to come back… Maybe 10 years from now I need a job again and I’ll take it, but right now we don’t plan on another.”
