TMZ is reporting that Hayden Panettiere’s dad, Alan, has been arrested for allegedly battering his wife — Hayden’s mom. Alan Panettiere was arrested this morning on a felony count of domestic violence. He was popped after allegedly striking Lesley Panettiere in the face at around 3:00 AM today. He is currently being held on $50,000 bail.
UPDATE: TMZ now has details of what went down between Hayden Panettiere’s mom and dad before her father was busted for allegedly striking Mom, the mother went to a party just hours before the incident. TMZ is reporting that Law enforcement told them that Alan and Lesley Panettiere were at a party earlier in the evening. We’re told Alan was upset because Lesley was "hanging" with someone at the shindig and he felt she was "disrespecting" him.
Sources say, according to Lesley’s statement to Sheriffs, the couple went home, began arguing and he struck her in the cheek. We’re told cops took pictures and there are visible marks. Paramedics advised her she should go to the hospital but she refused. Alan did not give a statement to the police. It’s unclear if any of their kids were at the house at the time of the incident.
2ND UPDATE – DAD Makes Bail –
Hayden Panettiere’s father, Alan, was released from custody on $50,000 bail Monday afternoon after being arrested for allegedly striking the actress’s mother. Panettiere, 49, was arrested at 3:15 a.m. at the family’s West Hollywood home and spent about 10 hours in Los Angeles County sheriff’s custody. He was booked on a charge of felony domestic violence following a fight with wife Lesley Vogel, 52, deputies said.
On Sunday evening, the couple attended a Hollywood charity benefit for the Whaleman Foundation hosted by their daughter at Beso restaurant, and the pair were seen arguing. A sheriff’s spokesman says that Alan struck Lesley one or two times on the cheek causing bruising. Another sheriff’s official says that alcohol was involved in the incident. An observer at the party tells PEOPLE: "When they were both about to leave, they had a heated argument outside the restaurant. They were doing a good amount of yelling."
