Jon Bon Jovi is being sued for $400 billion by a songwriter who claims Jon stole his lyrics. Samuel Bartley Steele says words from his song (Man I Really) Love This Team were used in Bon Jovi’s I Love This Town, which is currently being used to promote the Major League Baseball playoffs.
Sanuel is the lead vocalist and guitarist from a band called The Chelsea City Council, claims he wrote the song in 2004, after the Boston Red Sox broke their 86-year World Series drought by taking the flag. "I know I’m the little fish and they’re the big fish but they messed with the wrong piranha. I want credit, acknowledgment and an apology. I know that I’m right," said Steele according to a Scottish website.
Sanuel says Jon may have heard his song in 2004 while in Boston campaigning for then Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry. Jon Bon Jovi’s spokespeople say they are yet to see the lawsuit. Source
