Christmas Comes Early For “A Christmas Carol”

The Disney hit  "A Christmas Carol" starring Jim Carrey as an anumated Ebenezer Scrooge has gone to the top of the U.S. box office with an opening weekend haul of $31 million in North America knocking Micheal Jackson’s "This is it"  from the top spot.

"This is it" got second place with $14 million, followed by George Clooney’s The Men Who Stare at Goats with $13.3 million.  U.F.O. thriller Fourth Kind and horror Paranormal Activity round out the top five.
