What a thrill. Amy Winehouse has helped design a fashion line for Fred Perry and helped launch it with an in-house gig at the London store. Accompanied by her keyboard player Sam Beste, Amy performed four songs at the label’s store in Old Spitalfield’s Market. Going from bad girl to fashion designer in a short period of time Amy says she was glad Fred Perry agreed to put out her line in size 6, a first for the fashion house who usually starts at size 8. Amy says I’m not really slim but I am tiny and I need a size 6.
Amy recently revealed in an interview that she was honoured to have been approached by Fred Perry to design the collection. ‘I knew exactly what I wanted,’ she said, ‘and I love Fred Perry so much. I was honoured that they would even, like, ‘Do you want to come and do a line?’ Me, like, me?’
Looks like Amy Winehouse’s wild ways are over for now. Good for her.
