A source told gossip website TMZ that the 44-year-old star could spend his days working in the local Aspen community, returning to jail in the evenings, if the judge preceding over his hearing agrees to declare him eligible for work release, and the local sheriff decides he meets the criteria to do so. Under the terms of his plea bargain deal, Charlie is expected to plead no contest to third-degree misdemeanour assault and will accept a 30-day sentence.
However, he could serve just 17 days if he is given early release for good behaviour. Charlie is currently living away from his wife of two years Brooke – with who he has 15-month old twin boys Bob and Max. Both Charlie and Brooke have been in rehab facilities since the incident in December.
