Tony Curtis’s death from cardiac arrest was announced by his daughter Jamie Lee Curtis today [09.30.10] in Las Vegas. The legendary star who’s real name was Bernard Schwartz was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1925 to Hungarian Jewish Immigrants and spoke only Hungarian until he was 5 years old. He went on to star in such classics as “Some Like It Hot” and “The Defiant Ones.” Curtis was married 6 times and devoted his later years to painting, claiming he has lost interest in the cinema.
