Kanye West surely defeated his purpose by overdoing it absurdly on his Twitter today @kanyewest. Of course he was way out of line when he chastised poor Taylor Swift for having the gall to beat out Beyonce at the VMA’s in 2009 – but after all it really was no big deal, was it? Everyone walked away from the incident and there was no permanent scarring except to West’s reputation of course. Even President Obama was appalled by his disgusting behaviour! But today, probably under the influence of some substance, Kanye West attempted to make amends by sending out what seemed like endless tweets expressing remorse, regret, apologies, sadness, and self-pity – the tone was about how he has suffered as a result of his behavior that fateful night… .
Well tying up the celebrity twitter streams all over the place with his useless pathetic tirade is not likely to improve West’s tarnished image. The best thing he can do is to keep quiet and mind his business – and to stick to his business, then we just be inclined to focus on his rap and not his bad behavior – something we would prefer to forget.
