Newlywed married Katy Perry, 26, took time away from hubby Russell Brand to promote her new perfume “Purr” at Selfridges in London yesterday [11.12.10]. Katy wearing a hideous purple dress posed with the perfume bottle, cardboard advert for the scent and fans. Katy is one in a long list of celebrities who have scents. Katy recently said she was happy when asked to create a scent.
‘My sense of smell is so important to me. A guy can walk into an elevator wearing Acqua di Gio, and I’m immediately like “You’re my first boyfriend.” I want my fragrance to have that effect on people. ‘I really wanted to develop a scent that was completely unlike anything I’d smelled before and not one that smelled like a knockoff of another scent.’
