Lindsay Lohan Is “Disappointed” About Her “Harsh & Unfair” Prison Sentence

Lindsay Lohan – who has been sentenced to spend 90 days in jail after violating the terms of her probation for a 2007 driving under the influence charge, by not attending enough alcohol education classes – has released a statement through her lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, stating that she is unhappy with the lengthy sentence.

The statement read: "Ms. Lohan and I are extremely disappointed in the sentence handed down by Judge Revel. We believe that the penalty is far harsher than what others would have received under similar circumstances. The reality is that Ms. Lohan, like most defendants, had to balance work commitments with court requirements. To be punished so severely for doing so, particularly in light of the fact that she substantially complied with each of her probationary conditions, is harsh and unfair. That said, Ms. Lohan is prepared to serve her jail time and to comply with the Court’s orders."

Photographs of the 24-year-old actress sitting in the Beverly Hills Courthouse during the hearing on Tuesday (06.07.10), show Lindsay displaying brightly manicured nails, with the words "F**k U" on one of her middle fingers in tiny black writing.

Rather than defending her clients’ actions, Lindsay’s lawyer has blasted the camera for being able to zoom in close enough to get a clear image of the design.   She explained: "With respect to Ms. Lohan’s nails, the fact is, the words could barely be seen by the naked eye. That a courtroom camera, purportedly there to accurately chronicle the proceedings, would use a telephoto lens to zoom in as it did to Ms. Lohan’s fingernail is a commentary on the entire issue."   Lindsay is due to start her sentence on July 20 at Los Angeles’ Century Regional Detention Facility, where she will have her own private cell.
