For once someone I really wanted to win an award won one – YAY! Meryl Streep has won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of chef Julia Child in the movie "Julie & Julia." Meryl did a fabulous job as Julia. To quote one of my friends "She was more Julia than Julia". If you have not seen the movie don’t miss it! Meryl manages to make you feel Julia’s love of cooking and love of life.
I have to admit I could have done without the "Julie" part of the movie and had more "Julia". I enjoyed the movie so much I went out and purchased Julia Child’s book "My Life In France" to read the book is to breathe France. With every word I read I felt I was there with her. I laughed when she described her first cooking attempts. My mouth salivated at her description of the foods she ate and made. She so inspired me I also purchased her book "Mastering the Art Of French Cooking". I have made many succesful recipes from the book. Bon Apetit Julia/Meryl
