Along the way, Doreen dazzled 150 VIPs at a Red Carpet gala in Philadelphia on a night which unveiled her new book/CD titled “Coming Home” and she was written up by national media including “The Insider.”
From there, Doreen appeared on the CW Network’s “Daily Buzz” and most recently, she made television history. She was the first person to ever perform on a Lifetime Network program called “The Balancing Act” since the show first aired two years ago. At the center of Doreen’s surging popularity is her “Coming Home” book and CD. It is a tribute to the music and the pin-up girls from the World War II era.
Doreen models costumes from the era reminiscent of stars like Lana Turner, Betty Grable and Veronica Lake on 32 pages in her new book. In addition, Doreen performs 19 classic love songs of the era including “I’ll Be Seeing You,” “I Get a Kick Out of You” and “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered.”
A significant portion of the proceeds from sales of the CD/book package benefits the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), a top-rated nonprofit organization that supports more than 60,000 Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps special operations personnel and their families. Doreen said:
“This is an exciting time in my career. I’m happy that I’m garnering national attention and that I am raising money for our men and women of the armed forces. This is a very, very special time for all of us with Memorial Day right around the corner. My appearances on the CW Network and the Lifetime Network have definitely opened the door for more opportunities. I am looking forward to bookings overseas, especially if it includes performing for our troops!”
