‘Spartacus’ star Tony Curtis – father of ‘Halloween’ actress Jamie Lee Curtis – was taken ill with a suspected asthma attack while at an event to unveil his latest artwork in Nevada. The 85-year-old actor, who suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, began having trouble breathing and was admitted to a local hospital for tests.
Curtis – who now uses a wheelchair and can only walk short distances – nearly died when he contracted pneumonia in December 2006 and was in a coma for several days. The screen legend has been married five times and had an affair with tragic actress Marilyn Monroe – who he claimed in his book ‘The Making of Some Like It Hot’ miscarried his baby. Although both were married to other people at the time, Tony claimed they had a fling during the filming of 1959 movie ‘Some Like It Hot’, which resulted in Monroe getting pregnant.
