Our guest blogger, Rosie, from Fit Fab Celeb, provides us with a recap of tonight’s episode of American Idol. Your top seven are back tonight with your top seven pouring their hearts out and performing songs from the 21st century.
A special performance by some people we may recognize, even though these guys have gone home they are definitely not forgotten; Ashton, Karen, Niama, Thia, Pia and Paul singing I’m Still A Rockstar.
Scotty McCreery: Swingin – He had me smiling through the whole song, he brought his voice down really low, wow! Tyler loved it, but would love him to do boot skooting and sacheying a little more. Lopez loved his story telling quality but feels that he should pull out the big guns; she was expecting more. Jackson said it was a little boring and safe, not a good song choice.
James Durbin: Uprising – I didn’t like the song, but he sang it well. Lopez said that theatrically it was the best performance of the night, it was amazing. Jackson loved it, he said it was amazing, unbelievable. Tyler told him to stay out of his closet, “Mad Max meets Storm Troopers on Melrose”, it was crazy good, he loved it.
Haley Reinhart: Rolling in the Deep – She belted it out really well, good job. Jackson said she choose a perfect direction for her, it was just a little too sharp at times. Tyler thought it was a great performance, a slow start, but she brought it up. Lopez said she did very well, she shined.
Jacob Lusk: Dance with my Father – I didn’t like it, I’m actually tired of him, yawn. Tyler said he was so good, he reminds him why he loves music, it was a beautiful thing. Lopez said it was great, he had lots of control, emotionally it was a beautifully performance. Jackson said vocally it was good, but didn’t make him jump up and down – he needs him to go off the top.
Casey Abrams: Harder to Beathe – I didn’t like it, but I have never been a fan of his but he makes Tyler swear and kisses Lopez, the guy definitely has his swag on! Lopez said Casey has soft lips! she loved the performance, it was really great, he took a pop song and made it rock. Jackson said he loves that it is always a surprise and wants him to continue to take chances. Tyler said he is a cult hero and changed so many peoples minds because he is so good.
Stefano Langone: Closer – This one was really tough for me because I really like Usher, but to be honest, Stefano did a great job – I would say his best performance so far. Jackson said he did a very good job, he smoothed it out. Tyler said he was all up in it, great job. Lopez said it was very good, he really had swag movin’ on, he owned the song.
Lauren Alaina: Born To Fly – She was very good, but I wasn’t crzy about the song. Tyler said she is so good naturally and has her swagger. Lopez said she has so much color in her voice, it really is beautiful. Jackson said that Lopez was right on, she can sing anything – she can really do it and feels that she doesn’t know how good she is.
