Although Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are split up and track to finalizing their divorce it seems that Ashlee is still carrying a torch for Pete. The couple have a 2-year-old son named Bronx.
The 26-year-old singer-actress Ashlee, Jessica Simpson’s younger sister, filed for divorce from Pete in February. But recent events show that Ashlee can’t drink and keep the 32-year-old bassist off her mind.
A source reveals that Ashlee recently made a drunken phone call to Pete professing her love. This is not terribly surprising as there was no third party involved in the couples break up – it seems that they just grew apart.
“Ashlee was telling Pete how much she misses him and wants him back,” says the source.
Of course a representative for Ashlee denies the call ever took place.
Ashlee is dating ‘Boardwalk Empire’s’ Vincent Piazza, but a friend of Pete reveals that she is so desperate to win him back, she even asked his sister Jessica for help.
But Pete’s pal says “He will never go back to her – he’s in a good place.”
