In the third episode of Boardwalk Empire called ‘A Dangerous Maid’ it seems that Nucky’s rivals are getting ready to take over Atlantic City. In one of the opening scenes Jimmy and Richard are sitting together and Jimmy says ‘We are taking over the city and Nucky will be in jail before 4.’ If I were Jimmy I would not count Nucky out of it just yet! On last night’s episode Nucky realizes he is losing Atlantic City and figures out who has betrayed him. If you missed last night’s episode read our official recap here.
Episode Synopsis for A Dangerous Maid“ The Commodore throws his weight around with the Coast Guard to disrupt the delivery of alcohol, which creates an opportunity for Owen to demonstrate his value to Nucky and a struggling casino. Meanwhile, a letter dredges up painful memories for Margaret; Nucky calls in a favor with the U.S. attorney general; Meyer and Lucky learn the price of power; and Lucy searches for ways to cure her loneliness.
Last night a new character was introduced Owen Sleater and he is someone we will be keeping our eye on. Owen’s character was an advance man for Irish nationalist John McGarrigle. At the end of the show John asks Nucky if Owen can stay with him and Nucky agrees. This week’s episode opens with Nicky asking Owen ‘What are your talent’s Mr. Sleater’ to which Owen replies: ‘Making people stop what you don’t want them to be doing.’ Well sounds like Owen will be able to help Nucky with his current problems!
