Today was the Los Angeles Mission’s Annual Good Friday banquet. Celebrities, politicians and volunteers turned out to serve food and distribute Easter baskets and new shoes to the homeless. The mission serves about 3,000 lunches, consisting of macaroni and cheese, salad, a roll and gourmet pecan pie. The event marked the beginning of the mission’s 75th year of operation.
Actress and former model Angie Everhart (pictures below) participated in the Mission’s Easter event for the first time. “I can’t believe how organized it is,” she said. “The children are smiling, and people are filing in one after another. I think this is a fantastic event. You’ll see me next year.”
