Charlie Sheen All Set For ‘Major League 3’ Production Without Wesley Snipes

Charlie Sheen is ready for his role in ‘Major League 3’, the film is already written and the director is awaiting the go ahead to start production.  “He’s really excited about the film,”writer and director of the first two ‘Major League’ films, David S. Ward’s representative revealed.  “It’s already written, and in fact he wrote it a few years ago.”

Given Sheen’s recent bizarre behaviour and long-winded rants, it was unclear whether the film would actually be made.  But Ward’s rep said he still wants Sheen in the role.  “Of course he wants Charlie back in the role of Ricky!” the rep said.

Of course he does – more than ever, no doubt – as long as Charlie can hold it together throughout production.  “Right now, it’s all up to Morgan Creek, the production company.  If they want to green light it, then it’s a go.”  The 45-year-old actor has enlisted his best friend, Tony Todd, to take over Wesley Snipes’ role of Willie Mays Hayes.

Snipes was convicted of many counts of tax evasion in 2008 and is currently serving a three year jail term in a Pennsylvania prison, leaving him unable to play his previous role.  “Um, he’s almost as good a ball player as I am,” Sheen said of Todd.  “And he’s perfect for the role because he’s going to have more personality than anybody that’s ever lived…except me!”

Well there you go – words of praise from the Winner himself.
