Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay newest restaurant acquisition had to be evacuated during its opening night festivities. Chef Ramsay’s new Montreal restaurant, ‘Laurier Gordon Ramsay’ suffered a burst sprinkler system forcing the evacuation.
Ramsay, who appears on shows including “Hell’s Kitchen” and “Kitchen Nightmares,” was not on hand for the accident.
The original Laurier Barbecue was born in 1936… fast forward 75 years and this famous Montreal rotisserie now has celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay setting up shop in Canada for the first time. Ramsay is one of four partners at this iconic family-style restaurant.
This news got a lot of attention in Montreal and upset a lot of regulars who were (and still are) worried that this is the end of Laurier Barbecue as we know it. We ate at the ‘old’ Laurier Barbecue and promise that is was average, at best. Gordon Ramsay’s skill is bound to improve the place immensely – as long as he can keep it from raining in the custys.
