Was there really any doubt in Elizabeth Banks’ mind as to whether she should pass on the opportunity to star alongside gorgeous and successful women such as Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, and Brooklyn Decker? Seriously, those Hollywood gals alone can bring in the bucks at the box office, but with Banks adding to the mix, I’m totally going to want to see what these ladies bring to the table.
The four ladies will also be starring alongside Ed Helms (he was in that little flick, The Hangover – no big deal) in the Kirk Jones directed screen adaptation of the popular parenting manual written by Heidi Murkoff. No small star herself after recent box office success, Anna Kendrick has signed on as well. I’m saying this right now so mark my words, her career is going nowhere but up – and that’s not just because she was in Twilight!
Banks will play the role of the baby crazed children’s author who is quite vocal on her opinions over child rearing – until she herself gets pregnant – for the first time. That would definitely put a damper on things!
Banks recently became a new mom herself, having a baby boy via surrogate in March, so she can definitely relate to motherhood. She sent out a tweet late Monday afternoon saying this:
“Joining J Lo, Cameron Diaz and the rest of the awesome cast of What To Expect When You’re Expecting! Let’s have babies together!”
With such a large cast, I think Lionsgate is going to create many different story lines, following and intertwining each character– who are all no strangers to comedy.
As much as I am looking forward to going to the theaters and watching this movie, I can wait to see Elizabeth Banks as an author and a mom – I’m way more excited to see her tackle the role of Effie Trinket in The Hunger Games! Be done filming already and get the show on the road!
