Ok, I’m not going to lie – in doing my research to find the best Hollywood gossip circulating, I began not too long ago writing about The Hunger Games. It kind of just happened, and I truly hadn’t heard of it. So, after finding myself addicted to which celeb was cast as who – and having no idea what the book was really about – I started reading it this week. A few good friends of mine said to me, “Sarah, if anyone needs to read this series – it’s you”. So Ed and Court, I started it this week..and I love it! I was a little daunted by the fact that the book was in the ‘Teens’ section, but who am I kidding, the self proclaimed Twilight lover extraordinaire..
So, as it stands I’m at page 150 and totally digging it. I only wish my eyes would stay open longer. But being the girl that I am, and the inquisitive thoughtful ‘how shall they adapt this to screen’ sort of girl, I was finding it hard to read a book already knowing what actor was cast. I don’t know a lot about Jennifer Lawrence, in fact – I only know about her nomination and that she’s the ‘it’ girl. But, the question is – can she adequately transform into Katniss Evergreen, the books main character and hero. Here’s what she had to say:
“I love archery! I really love it. And I’m starting to do stunts with the bow and arrow, so I kind of feel like Hugh Jackman, and then I’m doing rock climbing and tree climbing”.
Jennifer, 20, further opened up to EW about taking on the big role of District 12’s female tribute:
“I knew that as soon as I said yes, my life would change, and I walked around an entire day thinking ‘It’s not too late, I could still go back and do indies, I haven’t said yes yet, it’s not too late.’”
Make me proud girl, love your brown locks and can’t wait to hear more!! Stay tuned as I read on – who’s reading with me or has read it already and has any input? I’d love to hear!!
