Kate Middleton is the best thing to happen to the British Royal Family in a very long time. She talks the talk and walks the walk like she was born into privilege. Christmas Day was no exception.
The Duchess of Cambridge took her place alongside Prince William when the family stepped out for the traditional Christmas Day Church service. Her outfit getting two big thumbs up. The 29 year old teamed a plum three quarter length coat with black platforms from her favorite designer LK Bennett. Then there was the hat! A special creation by Jane Corbett.
Kate’s earrings copped a lot of attention. The pair – described as diamond drops – are rumoured to have been a Christmas present from her husband. A nice way to celebrate their first festive season as Mr and Mrs Wales.
The Royal Family have embraced Kate and yesterday’s walkabout illustrated how well she’s been accepted into what Princess Diana once described as ‘the Firm‘. They were quite happy to stand back and let her enjoy the bigger than expected crowd at Sandringham. The Duchess at times looking quite overwhelmed by the sea of flowers and well wishes.
It’s not all pomp and ceremony for Kate. She will get a chance to see her own family this Christmas. Sister Pippa Middleton will arrive today. Which will no doubt please Prince Harry too. Then Kate, Wills and Pippa will head to the Middleton family home for a more low key get together.
Meantime her Grandfather in law remains in hospital after undergoing minor heart surgery. Prince Philip has spent three nights under observation after a stent was fitted on Friday. He’s reportedly doing well.
