Kate Winslet‘s tropical vacation was hot and steamy in all the wrong ways. The actress, along with her children and sixteen other guests, were forced to evacuate Richard Branson‘s Caribbean home early Monday morning after a wild inferno took over the house.
Luckily, all the guests staying in the home were evacuated, and nobody — to our knowledge — sustained any injuries. Branson told the news that the fire broke out around 4 AM during a tropical storm that ravaged the private island. His 25-year-old son help evacuate the guests. So, basically, it sounds like he fulfilled the role of Superman earlier today.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, a lightning strike is the most probable cause. I’m so glad everyone made it out of there safely! Sorry the vacation was cut short, Kate :(
