Keira Knightly was reportedly up for the role of Catwoman in the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises. But Keira is said to have a consolation prize that is a lot better than that. Marion Cottilard was suppose to star alongside Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg‘s futuristic bank thriller “Cosmopolis.” Cottilard had to drop out of the film because she is pregnant. She is expecting her first child with her French actor-and-director partner Guillaume Canet. No apprently Knightly is set to replace Cottilard as Pattinson’s love interest.

Robert Pattinson’s next leading lady might be the beautiful Keira Knightley. According to Alfama films production, Keira, 25,has been cast alongside Rob, 26, in Cosmopolis. She would be replacing Marion Cotillard, who has just recently announced her pregnancy.
Keira, is booked through April 30 for her run in The Children’s Hour alongside Elisabeth Moss, but since Cosmpolis doesn’t start filming until May 23, the timing could work out for her. Director David Cronenberg also just finished filming with Keira on A Dangerous Method, so it would make sense that they’d want to partner up together.
