Kim had arrived in Australia yesterday morning (Aussie Time) to promote her handbag line with her sister Khloe. She appeared on Sunrise and was greeted by screaming fans at a David Jones store in Sydney. However she also had an appearance at Melbourne’s Stakes Day on Saturday that she has now cancelled.
She told the Herald Sun: “I am very disappointed that I am unable to attend the Swisse marquee but I hope to come back and work with the Swisse team at another point in time.”
It is believed the contract with Swisse was worth more than $150,000 for a one hour appearance.
A spokesman for the Swisse told the newspaper that they were disappointed.
“All indications were that Kim wanted to fulfill all of her commitments once she landed in Australia but has obviously changed her mind given her very difficult personal challenges at the moment,” the spokesman said.
The decision is at odds with what she told Sunrise presenter Melissa Doyle and David Koch this morning in her first live TV interview since announcing her impending divorce.
“I really wanted to stick to my commitments to come out here,” she said.
“I love our fan base out here.”
