After his last day of filming on Friday, Steve Carell has officially left ‘The Office.’ The Scranton branch of the Dunder Mifflin Paper Company has lost its head honcho after six years.
According to NBC, Will Ferrell will be doing some episodes near the end of the season, but the network has not specified who will take over Michael Scott’s (Carell’s) office for next season. Will Ferrell has signed on to appear in four episodes of the sitcom. They will be the last episodes of the season following Carell’s exit.
Costar Rainn Wilson tweeted Friday, “Steve Carell’s last day … And the angels of comedy wept.”
Carrell announced his departure from “The Office” because he wants to focus more on film work.
