MTV’s Teen Wolf seems to be getting a lot of buzz (it’s plastered on the side of nearly every blog in the blogosphere), so I thought I’d give you all a quick update on how the second part of the pilot episode went down. Yes, I watched it. Yes, I enjoyed it. Yes, the amount of teen angst gave me a mild splitting headache.
If you care about this show . . . SPOILER ALERT!
In this episode, Scotty continues to battle with his werewolf side, desperately trying to control his aggression so he can play in his Lacrosse game without accidentally ripping off someone’s arm. Stiles, his close friend and the show’s comedic relief, urges him to forfeit his position in the game, but duh, duh, duh, duh, Scotty doesn’t listen — and risks exposing his secret to not only his girlfriend in the stands, but also her father, who coincidentally is a werewolf hunter.
Earlier in the episode, Stiles and Scotty discover the body that had been ripped in half by another werewolf, Derek, who also urges him not to play in the game. We learn that the dead body belonged to another werewolf, who could turn into an actual wolf, not just a super mean looking person with protruding incisors. Derek, the bad boy werewolf, is locked up in the cop car and taken away.
It’s game time and, rest assured, his eyes start to glow, claws start to grow, and the puppy side takes over. After winning the game, Scotty takes off in a sprint and his girlfriend, Allison (played by actress Crystal Reed), simply must run after him. Luckily, by the time she catches up with him he’s returned to normal and the barf-inducing, cheesy lines that eventually lead to the first kiss begin.
At the end of the episode, Derek is released from prison and we learn that the person he killed was in fact his sister (bum, bum, bum).
So, that’s that. Overall, better than last night’s, and MTV now officially has me intrigued. This show is definitely geared toward the younger crowd and fans of Twilight and Vampire Diaries should definitely give this new show a shot. Don’t forget to leave us your comments and/or reactions below. We love them; they give us that warm fuzzy feeling.
Chat with you all later — hopefully the news tomorrow won’t still be inundated with stories about Weinergate’s special friend.
