Stephen Gilchrist, aka Steve-o to fans of the “Jackass” Franchise, was arrested yesterday on Canadian Grounds. After being stopped by customs at the Calgary International Airport, officials noticed there was an outstanding warrant out for Gilchrist’s arrest.
He was arrested for assault with a weapon, something that oddly enough happened 8 years ago. Back in 2003, during a New Year’s Eve performance at the University of Calgary, a fight broke out when an audience member jumped out of the crowd to take a few swings at the stuntman. Shortly after, the attacker was restrained by security, only to be hit by Gilchrist with an unknown weapon. According to police, the audience member only suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.
After a short while behind bars, Steve-O was eventually released on $10,000 bail (Canadian) which he paid for in cash. He is due back in court in May.
