I have to admit I have never watched American Idol before last night. My aunt Rosie over at Fit Fab Celeb covers the show each week but she is out of town so I got the dubious pleasure of tuning in and watching the final three contestants perform. I have to admit I had see videos of James Durbin‘s performances and was very impressed. However, James was eliminated and did not make it to the final three, much to the shock of everyone. Because James was so good I had high expectations of the others.
So last night I tuned into the show and was shocked the final three do not hold a candle to James Durbin. Most times during the show listening to the judges comments I thought I was watching something different than they were. It had me wondering whether they were trying to make the most of the three singers that were left.
Scotty McCreery the young 16 year old is probably the best of the pack. He has a brilliant country baritone voice, he is likable and a great singer. I could see him following in Carrie Underwood’s footsteps.
As for the ladies it is a toss up between which one was worse last night. Lauren Alaina‘s first two songs were hit and miss but she picked it up in sing ‘I Hope You Can Dance’ by Lee Ann Womack. Haley Reinhart‘s songs were terrible. She covered ‘What is and What should Never be‘ by Led Zeppelin for the first round and no one should cover Led Zeppelin it was a complete disaster. In the last round she covered a favorite song of mine ‘You oughta know‘ by Alanis Morisette. It sounded like a cheap Karaoke version, she just blew the song and slaughtered it.
My prediction for tonight is Haley Reinhart will go home, but with the way voting went last week who knows? Let us know below who you think should be eliminated?
