R Kelly, who is currently living in Chicago, has reportedly failed to pay $837,000 to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and is therefore been given a tax lien.
The ‘I Belive I Can Fly’ singer was also ordered to pay $1,036,858 in tax seperately from the money he had already owed the IRS. Friends and family are concerned that the singer will end up bankrupt after record labels see no future in R Kelly’s music.
R Kelly, real name Robert Kelly, who released ‘Love Letter‘, his tenth studio album disappointed record execs after previous albums reached sales of over 1 million. His latest single ‘Radio Message‘ which debuted last month turned out to be a massive flop, not even entering the Billboard top 100.
Kelly also underwent an operation two weeks ago due to breathing problems, it is unknown if he will still be able to sing after he has recovered.
