We love countdowns here at CDL and so we decided since December is a special month we would offer our readers something special- The Top 25 Television Gems Countdown. If you’re like me then you have certain TV shows that you watch each week and you kind of ignore anything that is on at the same time. Well, we’re encouraging you guys to check out some of those shows and number 15 on our countdown is The X Factor, which airs Wednesday and Thursday nights at 8pm on FOX.
The show itself is kind of your typical reality find-the-talent hour but timing is everything. You may not already be invested in The X Factor, but it’s not too late to discover it. In fact now may be the best time since the judges (LA Reid, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and Simon Cowell) have already weeded out the people who didn’t need to get too comfortable. Now we’re left with four remaining contestants. Leaving something for everyone.
Tate Stevens is the thirtysomething country body. He is married with kids and everyone loves him. His voice is consistent and perfect and he makes me a diehard fan in spite of my general dislike of country music.
Carly Rose Sonenclar is only 13 but has an R&B voice that will eventually rival some of the greats. She, like Tate, has been consistent week after week. I think the competition truly is between these two but also thrown into the mix are two groups, Emblem 3 and Fifth Dimension.
Emblem 3 is being promoted as a huge boy band to be, like One Direction. They are packaged to look that way and every song is carefully picked to meet that criteria too. Last is Fifth Dimension which combines the voices of five young ladies. They can sound really good but harmonies aren’t their strong suit so they need a bit of help here.
There you have it, not one but four good reasons to take a minute to check out The X Factor. There’s only a few episodes remaining so get on board before it’s too late!
