Telepictures, a division of Time Warner just let a bit of a bombshell drop, Anderson Cooper’s daytime show, Anderson Live, will end production after this season wraps. New episodes are expected to run through the summer which will be little solace to his fans, I’m sure. The show itself was recently retooled but that wasn’t enough and apparently the numbers game won out because Anderson’s ratings remained in the toilet.
Anderson had this to say about his daytime shows’ demise, “I am very proud of the work that our terrific staff has put into launching and sustaining our show for two seasons. I am also grateful to Telepictures for giving me the opportunity, and indebted to viewers, who have responded so positively. I look forward to doing more great shows this season, and though I’m sorry we won’t be continuing, I have truly enjoyed it.”
Don’t be too sad for Anderson, he still has his CNN nightly show, Anderson Cooper 360
Which means his fans won’t have to go through complete withdrawal come next fall. Isn’t it a bit ironic that this news comes just weeks after that hotly debated visit to his show from The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Teresa Giudice? He absolutely ripped her apart, so much so that she was invited back for an onscreen apology from Anderson! He basically said she’s not exactly a star. I agree calling her a star is a stretch, but as far as we know Teresa hasn’t been fired this week! I can hear her laughing from her Jersey Princess palace as I type!
