Ashton Kutcher has been miscast as the late Apple founder Steve Jobs in what should be a joke but instead will be a biopic by Joshua Michael Stern. If Jobs had invented the pet rock perhaps Kutcher would suit the role. Kutcher playing the most successful industrial genius of the last 50 years makes about as much sense as Kim Kardashian playing Mother Teresa.
For those of you who forgot to pay attention to anything other than ‘Baywatch,’ Mother Teresa was a woman famous for devoting her life to helping society’s outcasts. She was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title ‘Blessed Teresa of Calcutta’ for her almost 50 years of caring for the desperately poor, sick, orphaned, and dying.
The movie will be competing with a rival biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s bestselling authorized biography on Jobs. Though Stern has landed a big-name in Kutcher for the lead, the rival project is reportedly being penned by Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin.
Little else is known of the Kutcher project, though producer Mark Hulme told The Wrap:
“I was observing that day how distractive his retirement was to the marketplace and I knew in my heart that his story was the film I wanted to do”.
The movie is likely to shoot as early as May, with producers looking to rush the project to screen before Sony finishes its rival film.
Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen on ‘Two and a Half Men’ last year, and recently hit the headlines for his affair with Rihanna following his split from wife Demi Moore.

Kutcher’s acting talent is rates from zero to tiny and his movie credits include a bunch of poorly received romantic comedies. Perhaps using an iPhone to play Jobs would be a better idea.
What do you think? Do you see Ashton Kutcher playing Steve Jobs?
