Author Stephenie Meyer Wants To Sink Her Fangs Into A ‘Twilight’ Remake

Can you imagine Lionsgate, the production company responsible for bringing us the epic Twilight movies starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, is already considering remaking the blockbuster vampire films? Well don’t hold your breath people, because this potential Twilight remake won’t be happening any time soon.

There was some recent buzz on the Internet that Summit Entertainment, Lionsgate’s parent company, was drawing up plans to remake the Twilight Saga, made popular by author Stephenie Meyer. They were alledgedly hoping to revisit the franchise upon the 5th anniversary of the successful film, allowing fans to have a whole new glimpse of their favorite characters.

Do you know how insanely happy this would make me? Don’t get me wrong, I am thoroughly pleased with the already made films, and am beyond excited for the final film, Breaking Dawn Part 2 – but to watch it all over again with a whole new cast? Ah-mazing.

Alas, Summit’s Co-Chairman Rob Friedman has stepped up to clarify these rumors.

“We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one unless that should change.”

So basically in other words — Stephenie, get on it girl! Who doesn’t want more of Edward and Bella in their lives? Stephanie has admitted in the past that she wouldn’t mind seeing a reboot, but as of now the idea is shelved.

In the meantime, I will be biting my nails as I wait for the November 16th release of Breaking Dawn. I’m dying with anticipation!
