Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are like the popular kids in high school who defy all of the rules and rebel against public perception and opinion. Brad, one of the most famous actors in the world, has had a fairytale romance with his artistic and equally talented partner, Angelina. They have built up a tiny empire of children, and have used their celebrity to make right in the world. Be it as it may, public perception does not rely solely on how well you handle the issues of the world and how many children you save from starvation. In the end, public perception and popularity are based on how relatable and interesting you are both as individuals, and as a unit. Brangelina, the moniker given to Brad and Angelina, is one of the most famous portmanteaus in all of Hollywood, but the couple hasn’t lived up to their title, until 2012 – the year they announced their engagement.
During a recent People magazine interview, Brad acknowledged that, in retrospect, it has been a big year for his family, ever since he proposed to Angelina last April. His affectionate nickname for his future wife is “Mama”, and she does live up to this title. “It’s been a family type of year, a down-home type of year. Mama’s worked more. And quite frankly I’ve really enjoyed it,” the superstar actor told the magazine. Their upcoming nuptials have been widely touted as one of the most important and most anticipated events in Hollywood history, as the two superstar galaxies will collide and become one super galaxy with Hollywood in the black hole centre. Brad did not reveal to People magazine the specific wedding date, but he did reveal what they have in mind for the event, “Just family. Keep it simple. Keep it simple – really.” And the thunderous stomping of a million irate Jennifer Aniston personalities could be heard for miles.
If you’re a celebrity ignoramus, or Teresa Giudice, you might not know about the ongoing purported feud between Aniston and Jolie. Brad was linked to Aniston first, but Jolie came and stole him away like death steals away old people in their beds. Aniston was left behind at the bus stop with a $20 haircut and a T-Shirt that read, “Been there, done that.”
However, the wounds eroded and time slipped away. Currently, Aniston is happily in love with the chiseled physique of Justin Theroux, while Brangelina is happily planning their future together. We do suspect, though, that Jolie told Brad to bar Aniston from attending the wedding. The “family” quote above only further enforces this idea, because as quirky and as loveable as Aniston might appear, she’s definitely not part of the self-admitted “familia” of the Jolie-Pitts. It’s clear that she won’t be allowed to attend the wedding and see her ex-lover say to her arch nemesis, “Until death do us part.”
Pitt was asked by People magazine how he feels about turning 50 next year, to which he responded, “This is what I think about: ‘Okay, you’re way over the mid-point [of your life]. You don’t know how much time you have left. I want to enjoy this year more than ever.’” And rightly so, Brad shouldn’t allow his munchkin hair-straightened past to interfere with his upcoming nuptials. This is the year of Brangelina. This is the year their portmanteau becomes validated, without Aniston’s nosiness and Golden Era nostalgia.
