Tonight is the 7th week of Dancing with the Stars, so dust off your dancing shoes, spit on your makeshift dance floor in the den, and wiggle that butt. Celeb Dirty Laundry brought you a sneak preview spoiler on Sunday, but today we’re bringing you an in-depth look at tonight’s show, including our expectations, our aspirations, and our vote for who might be leaving during next week’s elimination episode. If you missed last week’s action check it out here.
Apolo Ohno and Karina Smirnoff will be dancing the Cha-Cha/Paso Doble fusion: This couple danced the Cha-Cha during the first week of the All-Stars season. They received a middle of the pack score of 22 points during their first Cha-Cha. Apolo and Karina were only once last to be called safe, but they’ve never been in the bottom two this season.
Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke will be dancing the Samba/Ramba fusion: This couple performed a Bollywood Rumba during the 4th week of the All-Stars competition. They scored the highest scoring dance of the 4th week, with 29.5 points. This couple has never been in the bottom two of the competition. In fact, this couple ruled the front pack of the leader board for several weeks, but lost their claim to fame after now ousted Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel took the lead.
Giles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd will be dancing the Tango/Samba fusion: This couple performed the Tango during the 3rd week of competition and scored a middle of the pack 25.5 points. Giles and Peta were front runners for most of the season, but lost their lead slightly after the 4th and 5th week of competition. They were once again bumped into first place on the overall leader board after Sabrina and Louis’ elimination. They have also never been in the bottom two.
Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy will be dancing the Foxtrot/Cha-Cha fusion: This low scoring couple also performed the Cha-Cha during the first week of competition and scored a below average 21.5 points for their dance. Kelly and Val were in the front runner pack during the first quarter of the season, but lost their lead and slipped down to become the second lowest scoring couple on the overall leader board, and the lowest scoring couple of the 5th week of competition. They have also never been in the bottom two.
Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy will be dancing the Quickstep/Samba fusion: This couple has been left for dead in the bottom feeder section of the competition. They have somehow managed to survive, even though our official Celeb Dirty Laundry poll voted them out during almost every week of the competition. They performed the Quickstep during the 5th week of competition and scored the second lowest. They were in the bottom two during the 4th week of competition.
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani will be dancing the Tango/Cha-Cha fusion: This couple performed their Tango during the 5th week of competition and scored a mid-pack 27 points. They have been polarizing at best in their scoring, only once achieving a best score of the night during the 3rd week of competition. They have since been scoring lower than usual and ended up with the lowest score of the night during last week’s performance.
Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough/Mark Ballas will be dancing the Tango/Paso Doble fusion: Derek Hough will be replaced by Mark Ballas due to a neck injury this week. Shawn and Derek have never danced the Tango, or the Paso Doble, during the All-Stars season. They have been a high scoring couple with all round excellent critique from the judges. They have also never been in the bottom two.
Sabrina and Louis’ departure kicked up the dust during last week’s elimination episode. Their departure signaled a change for the rest of the couples, as Sabrina and Louis were the highest score holders of the competition at the time of their exit. We have a suspicion that Kelly and Val might be in danger come next week, but after Sabrina and Louis’ exit, anything is possible. The marathon dance will also take place during the competition tonight:
First place will receive 10 extra points, second place will receive 9 extra points, third place will receive 8 extra points, fourth place will receive 7 extra points, fifth place will receive 6 extra points, sixth place will receive 5 extra points, and the seventh place will receive 4 extra points.
Who do you think should be the next couple to leave? Which celebrity has long overstayed his/her welcome? Who do you think will survive the longest during the marathon dance? It’s up to you to let us know in the comments below.
