Tonight on the CW HART OF DIXIE returns with a whole new episode called “Walkin’ After Midnight.” If you have not watched the show before it is about fast-talking New Yorker Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), whose carefully planned life as a cardio-thoracic surgeon in New York City somehow went awry.
Zoe is now officially a general practitioner in tiny BlueBell, Alabama, where the neighbors take care of one another, the mailman knows your name, there’s a parade every Tuesday…but the townsfolk still aren’t quite sure what to make of Dr. Zoe Hart. Yet she won’t let that discourage her from being the best GP in the country.
On tonight’s show with Halloween right around the corner, Zoe (Rachel Bilson) begins to notice some odd occurrences happening in her home. She is shocked to discover that the culprit is George (Scott Porter), but she soon realizes that he may have a sleepwalking issue. Concerned for his safety, they decide to conduct a sleep study, forcing her to cancel her big plans with Wade (Wilson Bethel).
Meanwhile, the Mayoral race between Lavon (Cress Williams) and Ruby (guest star Golden Brooks) is close, and AnnaBeth (guest star Kaitlyn Black) comes up with an unusual plan that may help him clinch the election leaving Lemon (Jaime King) feeling uneasy. Joe Lazarov directed the episode written by Veronica Becker and Sarah Kucserka.
Tonight’s episode looks like it is going to be great and you won’t want to miss it, so be sure to tune in for our live coverage of CW’s Hart of Dixie at 9:00 PM EST! While you wait for our recap hit the comments and let us know what you thought of the premiere of Parenthood last week?
Live Recap:
Zoe is doing a pants less walk of shame from Wade’s and walks through a giant spider web. She tells Lavon that someone’s been sleeping in her bed. He mocks her. She tells him she’s found an extra toothbrush in her bathroom. Lavon tells her it’s just Wade making a joke.
Just then Wade shows up in a scary mask and gooses her. He tells her that he couldn’t have done it since he was tied up last night – literally! Lavon heads out to give out candy to kids in town square. Lemon has the Belles in town square working hard campaigning for Lavonne’s mayoral race.
Lavon tells her he wants to take Ruby down in the mayoral race and the Belles plan a door to door campaign strategy. Tom shows up and tells her he got 30 new registered voters – the Beaudrys. Lemon is horrified because they’re Auburn fans – rivals to Lavon’s college team Alabama. In the South, this is a huge deal!
George is being stalked by two chicks who want some time with him. Wade wants to know what’s up and George said his annual tax seminar was packed with singles. Wade wishes him luck and George wants to know if he’s going to break his last year’s Halloween record of bedding three sexy cats. He tells George he’s woman free – on a kind of cleanse.
Zoe texts Wade and says she needs him, but she just wants him to install a security camera. She wants them to camp out and catch her trespasser, but he tells her he’s got to work late at the Rammer Jammer. She concedes, but then beds him to test out her new camera!
Annabeth suggests a strategy to re-engage the Beaudrys by convincing them that Lavon is dating her – since she was an Auburn Tiger. Lemon doesn’t want to hatch the scheme – she’s obviously still got feelings for Lavon, but has to agree.
As Zoe sleeps, an intruder creeps up on her and she maces him right in the face! OMG it’s George! He’s supposed to be sleeping on the houseboat – what gives? Zoe asks what he’s thinking and he asks her what he’s doing there. He has no idea why he’s in her bedroom and why she maced him.
George tells her he woke up Thursday with candy corn in his hair and another night at the gas station. She asks him if the rogue toothbrush is his and he says yes. She tells him he’s sleepwalking and he says there’s no way. He says he hasn’t done it since he was a child.
George tells her he’s living on the houseboat and she tells him sleep walking on a houseboat can be deadly. She volunteers to tack an EEG monitor on him and watch him sleep. He tells her can’t because he’s going to a big Halloween party.
Lemon comes into Lavon’s house bearing donuts. She tells him Annabeth’s ruse is a bad idea. He tells her has to go all out since Ruby won’t stop at anything. He tells her the 22 Beaudry votes could seal the election. Annabeth shows up with Romeo and Juliet costumes for them to wear to the party that night. Annabeth is really crushing on Lavon and has no idea her bestie had a thing with him.
Wade shows up dressed as James Bond and tells her to get into costume. She tells him she can’t come to the party with him because she found her bed sleeper. She tells him she has to do a sleep study that night with George. He asks if she’s sending him off looking all hot to a party with skanky chicks while she goes to spend the night with her sort of ex George. He’s not happy, but leaves.
Annabeth reveals to Lemon that she’s hoping the fake romance with Lavon turns real since her divorce is now final and she really likes him. Lemon feigns politeness, but is less than thrilled.
At the houseboat, Zoe prepares to watch George sleep and follow him if he sleep walks. She tells him to go about his normal schedule and he begins to undress. She send him across the boat to do it and disrobes while she sneaks a peek. Zoe reads a text from Daisy and he tells her he forgot to cancel his date.
He comes down and is in a tank top and boxers looking delicious. He lies down and she sits beside him to attach the monitor. She notices his fireman costume and semi-swoons – she had told Wade she was hoping for him to be a Magic Mike firefighter…
George sends her out of his bedroom so he can get to sleep and Zoe dozes off. When she wakes, George is gone!
At the Bluebell Halloween party, George’s dumped date Dixie hits on Wade and he runs away. Cody tries to lure Lemon with a wine spritzer, but she huffs off in all her Marilyn Monroe finery when she sees Lavon and Annabeth come in.
Local newsman Dash Dewitt runs over to get an exclusive scoop on the new couple. He asks if they want to be called Lavonabeth or Annavon. Lavon says coyly that he can’t confirm or deny their relationship status.
The happy new couple conveniently runs into the Beaudry matriarch who buys their cover story and heads off to chat with them while Lemon fumes. Zoe comes and drags Wade out to help her find job. Wade finds the whole thing shady because George keeps ending up in her bed and she protests innocence and tells him George has a real medical condition.
Back at the party, Annabeth works the Beaudrys masterfully. Lavon excuses himself to talk to Lemon and she says she doesn’t like that he’s lying. She acts all righteous, but it’s really about her feelings for him – you can see it on her face!
George shows up to the party in his fireman costume. Dixie asks him to dance and he says no. Zoe comes up and Dixie asks who she is and George says “This is my girlfriend.” Zoe looks shocked and Wade wears an I told you so smirk! That boy sure can smirk!
BTWs, the cool “band” playing at Bluebell’s Halloween soiree is actually a random band backing brand new country sensation Kelleigh Bannen performing her songs “Be a Man” and “Sorry on the Rocks.”
George goes on and on about his girlfriend Zoe and Wade wants to wake him. She tells him that can be dangerous and that they need to get him home.
Annabeth is thrilled with her faux coupling with Lavon and tells him so. Lavon is having qualms, but then the Beaudry matriarch tells him he’s got their votes. Lavon can’t take it and walks away to find Lemon.
A slutty nurse hits on Wade and he’s trying to gracefully avoid getting lucky. She reminds him of the sexy fun they had last Halloween. He tells her things have changed and she wants to know what. He tells her there are rules. And then he says it again – louder and tells the slutty nurse he’s going to enforce those rules and stomps out.
Lavon goes to come clean with the Beaudrys. He tells them he doesn’t like his behavior and that he and Annabeth were not really dating. The Beaudrys admit they never vote – but that this year they’ll register and vote for Ruby.
Annabeth overhears and leaves in tears. Lavon tells Lemon “that sucked.” She tells him she’s proud of him and Lavon admits he should have listened to her. She tells him they’ll win the race clean. They share a big hug and he tells her he feels like she believes in him more than he believes in himself and that he doesn’t know what he’d do without her. She’s thrilled.
Back on George’s house boat, she tells George she needs to get him to bed. He tells her he’s tired and takes her hand. She asks him if they’re “together” and he says “duh” and tells her she’s acting weird. She asks him if they’re happy and he says how can they not be? He starts to kiss her and Wade shows up and knocks George into the water.
Zoe yells at Wade that George was sleepwalking – he says “I know he was – what’s your excuse?” Ooh burn. You’re caught Zoe. You’re the one who demanded Wade be monogamous with you and you were about to play tonsil hockey with George Tucker!!
Shame, shame Doc – your bedside manner needs work. And who would have thought I’d feel sorry for Wade and see him as the good guy? And despite how cute he looks in his tux, no one seems to realize that he’s 007! I’d take him shaken or stirred!
George dries off and asked her what happened. He gets a text from Dixie who calls him a jerk for not telling her he had a girlfriend. Zoe says in his dream state, he’s got a girlfriend. He wants to know who it is. She admits it’s her. She says that explains why he was sleepwalking into her house to sleep and left a toothbrush. George tells her that he’s still hung up on her. He asks her why they’re not together.
Back at the Halloween party, Ruby approaches Lavon and tells him she realizes he’s changed. She says she needs to grow up too. She apologizes for sabotaging him with the stolen pregnancy test story. Lavon asks her to join him, but tells her to buy her own drink. They laugh.
Zoe tells George she’s going to prescribe a mild sedative to help him sleep. He wants an answer to his question rather than medicine. She tells him they can’t be together now because she doesn’t want to be the rebound girl that gets her heart broken.
Zoe tells him that he needs to be with someone that he has feelings for to help him get over her. She tells him that’s what she’s doing. He wants to know who and then says he doesn’t want to know. He asks if it’s serious and she admits it’s not, but says it’s what she needs right now.
Poor Wade! Does he know he’s got heartbreak in store for him? He’s trying to pretend it’s just sex between him and the Doc, but it’s obvious he’s falling for her – hard!
Lemon runs into Annabeth at the Butter Stick and thanks Annabeth for working so hard for the campaign. Lemon tells her you can’t control the heart and feelings pop up from nowhere. Annabeth says there’s six more days of the campaign, working side by side with Lavon and anything could happen. Lemon agrees that anything could and you could tell she’s thinking about Lavon.
George meets up with Dixie at the Rammer Jammer and tells her he doesn’t have a girlfriend – that it was a mix-up. He tells her he can’t see her anymore and that he’s sorry for leading her on. She says she can’t fault him for being honest. She looks less pleased when he asks her to also tell Savannah the same thing.
Presley – the beer delivery girl that was there earlier – is conveniently back and teases him about the many girls he has in the harem. George asks Presley out and he tells her he won’t be a gentleman and that she can even pay for dinner. She agrees to drinks – no dinner – and tells him if he shows up in a tie, she’s leaving.
Zoe apologizes to Wade and admits she let things with George get out of and. She tells him she still wants to be monogamous and that she told George she was involved with someone. Wade fakes sleepwalking and scoops her up and takes her to bed laughing! They’re so cute together!
The next episode is two weeks away! Aww. Will have to wait awhile for my next HOD fix! See you then!
