“Hunger Games: Catching Fire” Heats Up: Pranks, Bromances, and Sexy Photos from the Set!

The stars of the Hunger Games sequel Catching Fire are continuing to film after a Thanksgiving break. Earlier in the month the cast was filming in Atlanta, where the cast and crew utilized the Marriott Marquis quite a bit. The film crew utilized the inside of the hotel as well as the roof. The cast and crew are now on location in Hawaii.

Catching Fire is the second story in the Hunger Games Trilogy by author Suzanne Collins. Following Katniss Everdeen’s (Jennifer Lawrence) victory in the Hunger Games in Panem, there is a rebellion against the Capitol. Katniss and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) are forced back into the Hunger Games arena. Per The Examiner, Catching Fire will feature a tropical Hunger Games area. Who wouldn’t want to work in Hawaii? Deep blue sky, warm temperatures, and pretty palm trees! No bulky winter coats and not being wrapped up like a mummy to keep the arctic air off your face. When I think of Hawaii I think of pretty bright colors and tropical drinks, luaus and hammocks, surfing and grass skirts. Judging from the published location photos, Jennifer, Josh and the rest of the cast won’t be enjoying the tropical paradise. They have down and dirty work to do.

As hard as they work, the cast also knows how to balance it with fun. The Examiner reports that Jennifer and Josh had a notorious prank war during the shoot for the first Hunger Games movie. Now the cast of Catching Fire are carrying on the prank tradition! Woody Harrelson played up Jennifer’s fear of spiders.

He told USA Today “We had this real-looking spider. Josh [Hutcherson] came up behind her with the spider. She started screaming at the top of her lungs. We were on a big stage and she ran out screaming. She’s the funniest woman I know. I’m in a perpetual state of laughter with her, which is a pretty good way to be on set.” Woody is a pretty funny guy so I can just imagine some of the pranks he has pulled!

Of course every film shoot has to have a romance between co-stars. But in the case of Catching Fire it is a Bromance! The couple in question is Josh Hutcherson and Sam Clafin. Jennifer told MTV “They have a full-blown bromance. It’s really romantic and adorable. Yeah, no, it’s really cute. It’s annoying, but it’s cute.” Bromances are just as common on film shoots now as romantic relationships.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will open in theaters nation wide fall 2013. Check out the Catching Fire set photos below and let us know what you think!
