What truly makes a woman desirable? Is it her face, her eyes, her smile, her laugh, her hair, the way she places her fingers on her cheek, the way she walks, the way she speaks? Or is it her attitude towards life, her courage, her resilience, her inherent beauty, her elegance, her class? In an international poll released yesterday by Askmen.com, 2.4 million voters awarded “The Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence with the title of “Most Desirable Woman of 2012”, and included all of the above attributes into their final decision.
The 22-year-old actress shot to fame when she was nominated for an Academy Award for her 2010 performance in the gaunt and melancholic Winter’s Bone. Then, in March of 2011, Lawrence was awarded the role of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games trilogy, and quickly – almost overnight – the young star became a household name. There’s no denying that Lawrence is one of the most desirable woman on the planet, as her high cheekbones, piercing emerald green eyes, and awkward smile make her stand out from the gaggle of Hollywood bimbos who have no meat to their literal and figurative bones. Editor-In Chief James Bassil theorized as to why 2.4 million people voted for her, “Overall, there’s a sense that she’s a little more authentic than other actors. She’s fresh because we haven’t seen her all over the gossip pages for the past three or four years.”
Ashton Kutcher’s toy girl, Mila Kunis, followed in second place, while Kate Upton, Rihanna, and Emma Stone landed in third, fourth, and fifth place respectively. Last year’s winner, Sofia Vergara, slipped to 12th place in the official polling, while ladies over the age of 40 – First Lady Michelle Obama, Sarah Silverman, and Rachel Weisz – placed high up in the final result.
